David B. Helmick
Age 76, of East Canton, passed away Saturday July 15, 2017 in Aultman Compassionate Care. He was born February 21, 1941 in Canton to the late Fred and Elva (Young) Helmick. David was a 1959 graduate of Jackson High School and was retired from H&W Contractors. David enjoyed drag racing most of his life, known as “Hemi Dave” at Magnolia Drag Strip. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Heather Russell; one sister, Jayne Ross. David is survived by his wife, Darlene (Beck) Helmick to whom he was married 36 years; three children, Shawn Helmick, David B. (Kallie) Helmick II, Emaline Helmick (fiancé, Corey Fisher); one granddaughter, Aria Fisher; two brothers, Jack (kathy) Helmick and Timothy Helmick. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice and Aultman Compassionate Care for their wonderful help and care. A memorial gathering will be Thursday July 20, 2017 from 4-7pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. There will be no other services.
