Wilma G. Eckles
Wilma G. Eckles, age 76, of East Canton, passed away Tuesday September 30, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. She was born August 27, 1932 in Fairmont, WV, to the late Robert and Delcie (Griffith) McKinney. Wilma was an East Canton resident for the past 41 years, retiring from McCrory Department Store after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie# 2370, VFW Post # 3747, Ohio Country and Western Music Association, Canton Chapter and the Waco AARP. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe S. Eckles in 1999; one brother, Fred; two sisters, Pauline and Joann. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Michael Eckles of Canton, Randy Eckles of East Canton, Lucinda "Cindy" King of Canton, Eric and Sharon Eckles of Minerva, Mark and Amy Eckles of Fairview, TN; 10 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; three sisters and brother-in-law, Patty Shannon of Defiance, OH, Mary and Richard Vincent of Havelock, NC, Roberta Watton of Fairmont, WV; her fiancé, Warren Veitinger of Canton. Funeral services will be Friday October 3, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton, with Pastor Paul Hoffmeyer officiating. Interment in Mapleton Cemetery.
