William V. "Herb" Sturgeon, age 79, of Louisville, died Thursday morning June 17, 2004, in St. Joseph Care Center. Born in Moundsville, WV. on April 13, 1925 son of the late Thomas V. And Sally (Denton) Sturgeon. A Louisville resident since 1933, Herb was a Marine Corp veteran serving in World War II with the 6th. Marine Division and the Korean War with the 1st. Marine Division, K-4-11 (The Chosen Few). He was retired from Ohio Power Co. in 1987 after 39 years of service. Member of the Canton Baptist Temple. Proceeded in death by an infant sister. Survived by his wife, June E. (Harter) Sturgeon to whom he had been married 51 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Steve and Mary Sturgeon of Dillon, MT; one daughter, JoAnn Motts of Louisville; five grandchildren. Rachel, Leah, and Isaac Sturgeon, Samantha and Nichole Motts; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Pat Sturgeon of Vienna, VA. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 pm. and one hour before the service on Monday (12-1pm).
