William H. "Bill" Strobel
William H. "Bill" Strobel, age 68, passed away peacefully Sunday September 24, 2006 in Hospice Care Center of Akron, OH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 9, 1938 in Canton, OH, to the late Harry R. and Virginia M. (Berry) Strobel. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Canton South High School and a 1960 graduate of Heidelburg College where he lettered in football and basketball. He retired from Chemionics Corp. in 1996 after 15 years of service, prior to which he was employed by B.F. Goodrich for many years. Bill truly enjoyed "the Farm" after his retirement in Powhatan Point, OH. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast, who took great pride and joy in his grandchildren and all their accomplishments. Bill was a man of great generosity, patience and humor, giving us many wonderful memories and will be missed immensely. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Strobel. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 24 years, Deb (Hohman); three children, Karin (Tim) Beam, Linda White, Randy (Dusty Millard) Strobel; six grandchildren, Bill, Mike, Hannah, Hunter, Makenna and soon to be, Levi; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Paul Peden, Darla and Jerry Engel; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday September 27, 2006 in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home from 5-8pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Bill's memory at P.O.
