Bill Ross

William (Bill) Ross, age 71, peacefully passed to his final home with his Lord on February 6th, following a courageous 9-year illness.  

Bill was born in West Union, West Virginia on December 14, 1952 to the late Howard and Octavia (Putnam) Ross.  He was the youngest of 13 children.  Bill was a 1970 graduate of Dodridge County High School and went on to a career in the Oil Field Industry as a pumper and well tender until his move to East Canton in 1986, where he switched to the construction industry. Bill retired from the construction industry as a carpenter and field supervisor in 2015.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings, Bruce; Margaret; Sarah; Rose; Frank; Mary; Poole; Darrell, and his special father- in- law, Chuck Stinard.

Those left to cherish the memories of the man , are his wife of 38 years, Sharon Fogle; daughter Rhea Ross West; son Tom (Karen) Ross; son Tony (Reagan) Ross and Chuck (Lydia) Fogle.

Bill is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Dakota (Dylan) O’Neal; Jacynda (Tanner) Ross; Dominick Ross; Brent (Kristen) Ross; Ethan (Lexi) Ross; Ariane (Braden) Pollock; Noah West; Janessa Ross; Paxton Mick, and 2 great grandchildren, Hudson O’Neal; Vander Ross, 1 brother and 2 sisters, Everett (Candace) Ross; Barb (Glendale) Smith; Mona (Richard) Wood, dear sister and brother in laws, Pat Ross; his special mother in law, Barb Stinard, and his 2 cats that visited and entertained him daily; along with countless nieces and nephews; and always dear friends.

In lieu of services the family asks simply that Bill be remembered by those lucky enough to have known him, as the ornery; helpful; loving; simple; self-sufficient man that he was.
