William H. Inboden
age 89, of Canton, passed away Saturday March 27, 2010 in Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. He was born September 30, 1920 in Canton to the late William Sheldon and Jennie (McKinney) Inboden. William was a life resident of the Canton area and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. During his service he served in three campaigns, the battle of Guadalcanal, Peleliu Island and Cape Gloucester. William retired from the City of Canton as an Engineer Inspector in 1988 after 47 years of service. He was a member of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church and a life member of the First Marine Division Association. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean A. Inboden in 2006; one daughter, Sharon Lake; two brothers, Howard and Gilbert Inboden; two sisters, Hilda Beamer and Olive Shaffer. He is survived by one son, Randy Inboden of Warner Robins, GA; one granddaughter and her husband, Kelly and Tim Almasy of Massillon; two sisters, Thelma Armstrong of Louisville, Donna Marie Mazzan of Louisville; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday April 1, 2010 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home. Interment with military honors in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Westbrook Park United Methodist Church at 2521 12th St NW, Canton, OH 44708.
