William A. Fisher Sr.
Age 89, of East Sparta died Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Union Hospital, Dover. Born April 17, 1923 in Beach City, OH. to the late William S. and Lydia (Dummermuth) Fisher. He was an East Sparta resident for the past 60 years and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. William retired from Hercules Motors in 1974 with 32 years and was also retired from Sandy Valley Local Schools where he was a school bus driver. He also previously had worked at Yellow Stone National Park and had been a farmer his whole life. William was a member of Sandyville United Methodist Church and had volunteered many hours at Aultman Hospital, Helping Hands in Waynesburg and various other organizations. He was a faithful blood donor and had donated 27 gallons over the years. Preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mae Fisher in 2002. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Melody Fisher of East Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Ray Garvin of Mineral City; six grandchildren, Dion Fisher, Preston Fisher, Christina Hill, Tyson Fisher, Mindy Spinelli and Shelley Hall; 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Fisher of Sugarcreek, Paul Fisher of Clearwater, FL; one sister, Alice Maurer of Dover; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Ruthann Bosley and William's son-in-law, Pastor Ray Garvin officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice or Sandyville United Methodist Church Missions Fund.
