William H. "Bill" Duffie Jr.age 79, of East Canton died Monday Jan. 31, 2005 in his home following a brief illness. Son of the late William H. and Mildred (Westerh) Duffie, Sr. He was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1943 graduate of McKinely High School. He was a US Army Air Corps WWII veteran. Employed many years as a service manager at various car dealerships with more than 25 years with Downtown Motors, and former owner/operator of Bill's Chain Saw Shop, Malvern. Founding member of the Osnaburg Historical Society, active member of the Malvern Rotary and served on the class reunion comittee of McKinley High School. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Meade Duffie in 1981, second wife, Marti Stevens-Duffie in 1992 and one brother, James Duffie. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, W. Michael and Sharon Duffie of East Canton, Patrick L. and Cristina Duffie of Parma, OH, Gerald C. and Constance Duffie of St. Louisville, OH; one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Bill Soliday of Nimishillen, OH; Special friend, Jane Turvey of East Canton; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two step-sons; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Harriett Duffie of West Seneca, NY; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joanne Craig of Canton, Agnes and Bob Denczak of Middlebranch; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. A. Wallace Anderson officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
