William Kenny Arrant
Age 85, of Canton died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Amherst Meadows Nursing Home following an extended illness. Born in Georgia on May 13, 1926 to the late Herman and Florence (Arp) Arrant. He was a Canton resident most of his life and a WWII Army veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne. Kenny retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1977 with 38 years of service. He was a charter member of the Canton Baptist Temple where he served as a former deacon, sang in the choir and led singing in the Forever Young and Ambassadors Classes. Also a member of the Philomatheon Society of the Blind, American Legion and AARP. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Delores J. Arrant in 2006. Survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jon Brunner; three grandchildren, Heidi (Valdis) Geib, Amy Brunner and John Brunner; three great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Arrant; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Tovissi officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 9 – 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
