Wilfred E. Burwell
Age 82, of Canton, passed away Thursday May 1, 2014 in Aultman Compassionate Care. He was born May 8, 1931 in Waynesburg, OH to the late Edward and Eva Mae (Fisher) Burwell. Wilfred was a life resident of the Canton area and was U.S. Army Korean War veteran where he had served in the 82nd Airborne. He retired from Stark Distributing after more than 20 years of service. He formerly served as an EMT and co-captain for the Canton Township Fire Department Station #5 for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. Burwell in 2010; six brothers and four sisters. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Sharon L. and Kevin McDonald, David and Darla Burwell, Carol and Andy Howard, Julie and Karl Conant, Danielle Orth Burwell all of Canton; eight grandchildren, Paige, Nichole, Jordan, Eric, Alexandra, Cassidy, Jacob and Doug; two great-grandchildren, Makenna and Annyston; numerous foster children and foster grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday May 5, 2014 at 7:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home. Friends may call two hours before services on Monday (5-7pm). Interment will be Tuesday May 6, 2014 at 10:00am in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. Condolences or fond memories may be shared online at www.sandersfuneralhomes.com.
