Wilbur Gene Buxton
Age 77, of Canton died Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Aultman Compassionate Care Centre following an extended illness. Born July 24, 1938 in Canton, Ohio to the late Luther and Ada (McCarty) Buxton. He was a life resident of Canton and a 1956 graduate of Canton South High School. Gene was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He retired from the Timken Company in 1997 with 41 years of service. He attended Northwest Church of Christ and was a member of Golden Lodge Local Union #1123, Canton South AARP #4885 and the Canton South Athletic Boosters. Preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Dwight Buxton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara H. (McNutt) Buxton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Christine and Dr. Patrick Garrett III of Palm Coast, FL., Laura and Mark Zieg of Kissimmee, FL., Joyce and Michael DeCicco of Warrington, PA; six grandchildren, Patrick IV and Michael Garrett, Jonathan and Christopher Zieg, David and Nathaniel DeCicco; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Nancy Buxton of Canton; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 pm and one hour prior to the service on Friday from 9:30-10:30 am.
