Wayne L. Lucas Sr.
Age 87, of Canton, passed away Sunday January 30, 2011 in Mercy Medical Center following a 15 year battle with Leukemia. He was a Canton area resident since 1966 and a WWII Army veteran having served with the 656th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He retired from LTV Steel in 1985. Wayne was a wheeler and dealer always looking for a good deal; he truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lucas in 2008; one daughter, Wilma McCray; two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by three sons, Wayne Lee (Karolina) Lucas Jr., Ronnie Lucas and Bruce Lucas; five daughters, Judy (Dave) Law, Karen Croston, Sandra (Virgil) Mounts, Kimberly Lucas and Charlotte (Frank) McKimie; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Rayner. Funeral services will be Thursday February 3, 2011 at 1:30pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Terry Bailey officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8pm.
