Walter S. Wilson

Age 79, of Canton, passed away July 8, 2016. He was born May 7, 1937 in Zanesville, OH to the late Walter Wilson and Alpha (Jackson). Walter retired from The Timken Company after more than 30 years of service and spent many years working at Clearview Golf Club. He was a member and trustee of North Industry United Methodist Church. Walter coached Hot Stove Baseball and his team won the 1979 State Championship. He loved to fish and was an avid year-round hunter. Walter loved to laugh and enjoy life, but his greatest joy was time spent with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Delbert Mayle; sisters, Laura Scott and Saundra Cenkner. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia; children, Denise Ley, Walter Jr., and Belinda (Jeffrey) Cipriano; grandchildren, Kelsey Wilson, Kayla Ley, Samuel, Abigail, Dillon Cipriano; great-granddaughter, Avery Schie; brother, Charles Mayle; sisters, Charlotte Mayle and Donna Mayle; and his faithful hunting dog, Abby. Funeral services will be Thursday July 14, 2016 at 2:00pm in the North Industry United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeri K. Johnson officiating. Friends will be received one hour before services on Thursday at the church (1-2pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the North Industry United Methodist Church at 155 Faircrest St. SW, Canton, OH 44706.
