Walter J. Schreckengost
age 92, of Canton, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday November 14, 2009. He was born March 17, 1917 in Vandergrift, PA. to the late Merle and Margaret (Moore) Schreckengost. Walter was a Canton area resident most of his life and a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. Walter was a WWII Army veteran. He retired from Metropolitan Industries and was formerly employed by National Fireproofing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Schreckengost in 2001. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret "Peg" and Kenneth Duncan of Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cynthia Schreckengost of Louisville; four grandsons, three great-granddaughters and one sister. Funeral services will be Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with internment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8pm.
