Walter J. Allen
Age 75, of Rayland, OH passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburg, PA. He was born October 26, 1941 in Moundsville, WV to the late Walter and Dorothy (Woods) Allen. Walter was employed by B&T Express for the past 15 years. He was a former member of Tri-County Trail Association. Walter was an avid farmer; he enjoyed raising horses, cattle and fishing. In 1984 he won the Race of Champions which was an endurance horse race. He is preceded in death by one brother, Roy Allen; one sister, Patty Dyer. Walter is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Jeffery Griffin, Nancy and Stuart Saulpaugh; one son, James Allen; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday February 13, 2017 at 1:00pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Tim Monteith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
