Wade E. Bowers
Age 70, of East Canton, slipped away with Jesus, Sunday October 3, 2010 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Wade fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith, II Timothy 4:7. This loving, caring man was born May 29, 1940 to the late Ernest J. and Bernice D. (Triesch) Bowers. He was a life resident of Stark County and a 1959 graduate of McKinley High School. Wade started to work at the age of 9 in a grocery store. Through the years Wade was employed by Sugardale Meats, Superior Meats and retired from Park Farms. He was the manager of Thunderbird Terrace Park for 14 years. Wade was a multi-gallon blood donor with the American Red Cross and a member for more than 30 years with the Little Sandy Creek Ruritans where he had served as a president, vice-president and held several other offices. He was a former member of the Rolling Raiders Hockey Team. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Bowers. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Dianna Milburn-Bowers; one son, Richard T. Bowers of East Canton; two step-daughters, Shelly (Jeff) Holland of East Canton, Terri Luckel of Canton; one grandson, Richard T. (Krystin) Bowers Jr. of N. Carolina; one step-granddaughter, Amanda Holland of Canton; one great-granddaughter, Madison Grace Bowers of N. Carolina; one sister, Vivian Grimes of East Canton; two nieces, Charlotte (Rick) Stull of E. Rochester, Carrie Grimes of Malvern; one nephew, Aaron (Terri) Grimes of E. Rochester; two great-nieces, Rachel Stull and Shelby Grimes of E. Rochester; one great-nephew, Nick Grimes of E. Rochester; mother-in-law, Shirley Milburn of East Canton and her fiance, Ethan Hammon; many cousins and good friends. A memorial service will be Thursday October 7, 2010 at 7:00pm in St. Paul's United Church of Christ at 306 W. Church St., East Canton, OH 44730 with Rev. James and Rev. Elaine Painting officiating. Friends may call two hours before services at the church (5-7pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
