Virginia L. Snider
Virginia L. Snider, age 87, of East Canton, died Tuesday September 26, 2006 in Aultman Hospital. She was born August 7, 1919 in New Philadelphia, OH, to the late William and Catherine (Jones) Geyer. Virginia was an East Canton resident most of her life and a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women. She was a member and co-founder of Friendly Hills Women's Club in 1953, which awarded her Homemaker of the Year in 1987. She was a member of the East Canton AARP, Osnaburg Historical Society, past officer of East Canton Daughters of America, Pocahontas Council #247 and volunteered at the Foltz Community Center. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Snider in 1987; three brothers, John, Harry and Eugene Geyer; one sister, Gladys Tourno; one great grandson, George Edward Cook III. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Polly Snider of Canton South, Terry and Judy Snider of Livonia, MI; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Richard Blough of N. Canton; five grandchildren, Eric (Jean) Snider, Amy (GeorgeII) Cook, Theodore Snider, Thomas (Donna) Snider and Roger Snider; five great grandchildren, Carrie, Ethan, Joshua "Luke" Snider, Abigail and Thomas Cook; one sister Evelyn "Honey" Knouff of East Canton. Funeral services will be Monday October 2, 2006 at 10:00am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. Richard K. Thewlis officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
