Vear “Whitey” Parsons
Age 76, of East Canton a devoted husband, father, grandfather and to his church passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 in his home following a brief illness. Born June 13, 1940 in Orma, WV. to the late Seldon and Ledia (Rogers) Parsons. He was an East Canton resident for the past 43 years and retired in 1997 from Laborers’ Union Local#1015 with 30 years of service. Vear was a member of Waynesburg Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. Preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Karr; one brother, Pastor Denver Parsons. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy (Harris) Parsons; three sons and daughter-in-law, Cledith and Kimberly Parsons, Chester Dean Parsons, Vernon Lee Parsons and partner, Larry all of Canton; one daughter, Stephanie Parsons and partner, Alisha Smail of Canton; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Goldie and Paul Jeffers of Canton, Masel and Stanley Karr of Ready, WV; a dear friend, Leslie Mayle of Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 at 10:30 am in Waynesburg Freewill Baptist Church, 8600 Waynesburg Dr SE, Waynesburg, OH. 44688, with Pastor Raymond Stanley officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 am.
