Vaughn W. "Butch" Strobel
Vaughn W. "Butch" Strobel, age 63, of Canton, passed away Sunday October 26, 2008 in the Laurels of Massillon. He was born February 4, 1945 in Canton, OH. to the late Wilson and Jean (Gibbs) Strobel. Vaughn was a life resident of the Canton area, a 1963 graduate of Canton South High School and had attended Malone College. He retired from Kempthorn Motors in 2003, prior to which he was employed by Petty Auto and Marine and by Young Truck Sales. He was very active in the Perry Football Fathers Club, enjoyed coaching many youth sporting programs throughout the years and had served as a Weblow and Boy Scout Troop Leader. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joan C. Strobel in 2005. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Paul Pesut of Green, OH; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher Strobel of Medina, Douglas and Dawn Strobel of Navarre; three grandchildren, Paige Strobel, Oleg and Elena Pesut; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Debbie Strobel of East Sparta, Rodney and Kathy Strobel of Canton South; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Andrew Harrelson of Canton. Friends may call 5-8pm Wednesday, October 29, 2008 in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. There are no other public services.
