Van W. Sherlin, age 89, of Canton died Friday morning in Country Lawn following an extended illness. He was born in Murphy, NC to the late David and Theoshee (Ivester) Sherlin. He was a Canton area resident most of his life, retiring after 35 years as the owner-operator of Sherlin's Garage. Member of Lathrop Lodge #676 F&AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Also preceded in death by his wife, Donna Sherlin in 2000 and two brothers, Survived by one daughter, Lois Knight of Magnolia; three sons, Richard Sherlin of East Sparta, David and Daniel Sherlin, both of Canton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave with Rev. Jeff Gindlesberger officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour before services on Tuesday 12-1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4815 Munson St. NW, Canton, Ohio 44718
