Valgene L. Gravo
Valgene L. Gravo, age 90, of Canton, passed away Friday October 24, 2008 in The Landing of Canton following an extended illness. She was born August 23, 1918 in Canton to the late William and Clara (Heckman) Heinemann. She was a life resident of the Canton area, a 1936 graduate of McKinley High School and received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL. Valgene retired from Canton City Schools in 1981 after 37 years of service; member of the Retired Teachers Association, Friends of the Library Association and served as a volunteer with the Canton City Schools GED program. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Gravo in 1988; one sister, Virginia Robinson in 1975. She is survived by one nephew and his wife, William and Georgia Robinson of Waynesburg; one great niece, Nicole Renicker of Canton; one great nephew, William Robinson of N. Canton. A private family memorial service will be conducted at a later date. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
