Twila J. John
Age 73, of East Canton died Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Affinity Medical Center following an extended illness. Born January 1, 1938 in Massillon, OH. to the late Sylvan and Sylvia (Price) Gerber. She was a life resident of the Massillon and East Canton area and retired from Osnaburg Local Elementary School where she was a cook for 25 years. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie #190 Auxiliary and the East Canton Church of God where she was active in the choir. Preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Robert Gerber; one grandson, Terry Bee. Survived by her husband of 55 years, Joel L. John; two daughters and son-in-law, Jody John of Muskegon, MI., Lisa and William Lago of Massillon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sandy and Shelly John of Massillon, Randy and Patti John of Sanford, FL., Rodney and Shelly John of East Canton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and William Hunt, Betty Smith all of Massillon. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Amherst Meadows staff for their wonderful care given to Twila. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Michael D. Jones officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Monday from 5 – 7 pm.
