Troy D. Whitley
age 89, of Canton, passed away Saturday May 22, 2010 in Altercare of Navarre following an extended illness. He was born October 29, 1920 in Red Boiling Springs, TN to the late Emery and Hattie (Austin) Whitley. Troy was a Canton area resident since 1943 and retired from The Timken Company in 1981 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ and had served as a deacon at the Southwest Church of Christ for several years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by seven sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie M. (Davis) to whom he was married 64 years; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Lou Whitley of Pickerington, OH, Don and Mary Whitley of Naples, FL, Roger and Kathleen Whitley of Canton; three grandchildren, Jason Whitley, Michelle (Dave) Lehman, Stephen (Kelli) Whitley; three great grandchildren, Austin, Micah and Grace; one sister, Naomi Meadows of Tennessee. Funeral services will be Thursday May 27, 2010 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
