Thomas M Soehnlen

Thomas M. Soehnlen, 75 of East Sparta, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, on January 19, 2025. He was born in Dover, Ohio on June 23, 1949, to the late John Sebastian Soehnlen and Mary Katherine (Welty) Soehnlen.

Tom was a proud 1967 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. He dedicated over 23 years of his career to Sparta Steel as a truck driver, embracing his love for the open road and the outdoors. A lifelong farmer, Tom found great joy in tending to his crops and caring for his animals, cherishing the simple yet fulfilling life of working the land.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents; brother John “Fritz” Soehnlen; sister Jean Divley.

Those left to cherish Tom’s memories include his wife, Penny (Herstine) Soehnlen; daughter Mary Soehnlen; son Michael Soehnlen; nieces and nephews; two sister-in-law's and a brother-in-law. 

A visitation for Tom is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Andrew Riggs. All services will be held at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, located at 4041 Cleveland Ave S., Canton, Ohio 44707. Burial will follow immediately at Greenlawn Cemetery.
