Thomas C. Larke, age 42, of East Sparta, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005 in Aultman Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 10, 1962, in Canton and remained a Stark County resident most of his life, graduating from Canton South High School in 1980. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton, Slovak Catholic Sokal, Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local # 94, and Mr. Mike's Golf League at Spring Valley Country Club. He was formerly employed by D & A Plumbing and Heating. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army with the Army Corps of Engineers and with the Army Airborne 15th Special Forces Green Beret as the rank of Sergeant at Ft. Meade, MD. Tom truly enjoyed golfing and the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy came from the time spent with his family. Preceded in death by his father, Lawrence "Larry" Larke in 2003; an infant brother; grandparents, Clyde and Frances Larke, Andrew and Mary Hudacko. Survived by his mother, Barbara Larke of East Sparta; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Beth Larke of Louisville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Loretta and R.D. Rayhel of Dumfries, VA, Theresa and Joe Culbertson of Cincinnati, OH, Barb and Skip Skelley of Canton South; one step-son and his wife, Mark and Ashley Hollingsworth; step-grandson, Kaleb Hollingsworth; former wife, Sunee Larke; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Sommer, MSC as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1602 Market St. S., Canton, OH 44707. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospital and its palliative care team for their tender care and support throughout the past several months.
