After returning from his military service, he worked for Timken Company for more than 45 years, retiring as a millwright. At Timken, he was a mentor to many young men and women. Tom was an outdoors man from childhood.  He hunted and fished. An exacting marksman, he loaded his own shells. He was proud of his many trophy fish catches, but he excelled as a marksman. A Mason for over 30 years, he was a member of the Caldwell Lodge #330 and Bolivar Chapter #368 OES member and in his time, served as Worshipful Master.
