Thomas B. Hare
Age 88, of Paris, OH passed away Saturday May 8, 2010 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born February 25, 1922 in Niles, OH to the late George S. and Christine (Breehl) Hare. Thomas was a Canton area resident most of his life and was a WWII Army veteran where he was awarded the Purple Heart and two bronze stars. He retired from Republic Steel Berger Division in 1984 after 44 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton where he had served as a Eucharistic minister and assisted with mass. Thomas had a passion for his gardens, roses, big band and barber shop quartet music and bingo; he loved golfing and the Cleveland Indians. He was a member of the Catholic Men's Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Thomas P. Hare in 2007; one grandson, Ben Reeves; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hare; three brothers, George, Robert and Lawrence Hare; two sisters, Dorothy Stark and Rita Rawley. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred (Kramer) Hare to whom he was married 65 years; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Myron Smith of Paris, OH, Sue and Tim Reeves of West Liberty, OH, Theresa and Bob Strecker of Akron; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Kramer of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday May 13, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities at 144 W.
