Theresa A. Schaeffer
Age 96, of East Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. She was born August 2, 1921 in Steelton, PA to the late Joseph and Theresa (Paukner) Blazi. Theresa retired from Aultman Hospital after 20 years of service and continued to serve as a volunteer for many more years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she enjoyed the ladies knitting and candy making groups. Theresa’s greatest joy was her family and the time that she spent with them. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry G. Schaeffer Sr. in 2011, to whom she was married 68 years; two brothers, Mike and Joe Blazi; two sisters, Helen and Margaret. Theresa is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry “Hank” Jr. and Paula Schaeffer, Bill Schaeffer, David and Lynn Schaeffer; four grandchildren and their spouses, Todd Schaeffer, Lori and David Samerdak, David and Jennifer Schaeffer, Carolyn and Benjamin Seibert; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Noah, Jacob, Madelyn, Eden, Lane and Luke; one brother, Robert Blazi. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:30am in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with Pastor Jon Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery. Friends and family will be received Wednesday 5-7pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services on Thursday at the church (9:30-10:30am). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church at 108 E. Walnut St., East Canton, OH 44730.
