Thelma E Shulty

Age 93 of Navarre and formerly of Canton died Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 28, 1922 in Canton, Ohio to the late John and Iva (Haverstock) Gerber. She was a 1939 graduate of Canton Township High School. Thelma retired from Wharton Electric with 30 years of service. She was a charter member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary for many years and was involved with the Sociable Sixties, Chancel Choir and Otterbein UMC women. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Shulty in 2004; five sisters, Marie Grosenbaugh, Elsie Faye Steenrod, Mildred Wharton, Gladys Stallman, Goldie Boughman; four brothers, Dwight, Lester, Wilbur and Joe Gerber. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl Seward of Bolivar, Peggy and David Thompson of Navarre, Marcia and Paul Wagner of Navarre; eight grandchildren and spouses, Jody (Jamie) Seward, Jeff Seward, Andrew Thompson, Travis (Evanne) Thompson, Juliann (John) Roberts, Mark (Heidi) Wagner, Tyler (Amanda) Thompson, Beth (Joshua) Smith; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at 11:00 am in Otterbein UMC, 6025 Shepler Church Rd, Navarre, OH. 44662, with Rev. Ralph R. Krall officiating. Interment in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 pm also at Otterbein UMC. Memorial donations may be made to Red Bird Mission, 54 Queendale Center, Beverly, KY. 40913-9601.
