Thelma I. Newman, age 99, a resident of the Canton Christian Home went to her final resting place on Sunday, November 28, 2004. Born on September 15, 1905 in Newcomerstown, OH. to the late John and Margaret (Myers) Westphal.
She was a former resident of North Industry and a member of the North Industry Flower Club. Also member of the Walton Hills Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Newman; two brothers, Charles and Clarence Westphal; one sister, Iva Westphal;
and a granson, Jan Steigerwald. Survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Jean Stokes of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Carl Steigerwald of Circleville; eight grandchildren and spouses, William E. Stokes, Jr. and Michael L. Stokes of Lakewood, Karen (Frank) Beodray of North Olmsted, Mark and
Keith Steigerwald of Circleville, Gower (Della) Steigerwald of Grove City, OH, Gay (Bernard) Thompson of Grove City, OH, Richard (Joyce)
Swanger of S. Bloomfield, OH; eight
great-granchildren, Krista, Andrea and Kaitlyn Beodray, Emily Ann and Andrew Stokes, Christina and Casandra Diehl, Tracey and Christopher Steigerwald, Eric and Lindsey Swanger. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Manley Pierce officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Thursday 10 - 11 a.m.
