"Ted"Kermit G. Helm
Ted Helm, age 72, of Canton, joyfully and peacefully ascended into the arms of his heavenly Father on September 24, 2008 following a hard fought battle with numerous illnesses. Born September 3, 1936 in McDunn, WV. to the late Vernon L. and Rosalie (Truman) Helm. He was a Canton area resident for the past 56 years and a member of Grace Fellowship Church. Ted retired from Danner Press after 33 years of service. Everyone who came in contact with Ted was humbled by his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The moments spent with family and friends alike, was one of his most cherished things. He was an amazing gardener, who willingly shared his abundance with all. One brother, Russell Leon Helm and one daughter, Terri L. Gold and a very dear sister in the Lord, Phyllis J. Stephens preceded Ted in death. Survived by his wife Alice Helm; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kris Helm of East Sparta, Timothy and Alecia Helm of North Carolina; one daughter, Staci Ford of Canton; stepsons, James Baad of the home, Anthony (Christina) Baad of Kentucky, Brian (Darlene) Baad of Canton; twelve grandchildren, Lori, Matthew, Michael, Heath, Aimee, Shanon, Bradley, Jacob, Mei, Kara Lynn, John and Niaha; seven great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Vernell Holcomb of Powellton, WV, Florence and Bob Cosner of Xenia, OH; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Clara Jean Helm of Massillon; and a very special extended family, Rev. Lester Stephens, Rev. Keith and Debby Stephens, Keith, Sharon, Kim and Gabe Dickey. Funeral services will be Saturday September 27, 2008 at 12:00 pm in Grace Fellowship Church, 6282 Nave St. S.W., Canton, OH. 44706 with Rev Keith Stephens officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Fellowship Church.
