Stephen G. Phillips

Age 66, of Canton, passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 in Aultman Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 13, 1951 to Donald R. and Vivian (Kincaid) Phillips Sr. Steve was a 1970 graduate of Canton South High School and a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. He retired from the Timken Company in 2004 after 30 years of service. Steve was an avid golfer, enjoyed slot car races, swimming, camping with his family, various outdoor activities and his canine companions. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald R. Phillips Sr.; his brother, Donald R. “Donnie” Phillips Jr on March 1, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Anita L. (McCoul) to whom he was married 42 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Bryan Westfall, Janet and Brian Kerns; four grandchildren, Brittany Kerns, Bryce Westfall, Paige Westfall and Madyson Fowler; his mother, Vivian Phillips; two brothers, Stanley (Hope) Phillips and Lynn (Cyndi) Phillips; two sisters, Sherry (Charlie) Morrison and Linnette (Bryan) Clapper; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 7, 2018 at 1:00pm in Indian Run Christian Church at 8368 Hill Church St SE, East Canton, OH 44730 with Pastor Terry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends and family will be received Tuesday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services on Wednesday at the church (12-1pm).
