Stella M. Von Almen
Stella M. (Frenz) Von Almen, age 82, passed away Saturday December 29, 2007. She was born May 21, 1925 in Canton and was a 1943 graduate of McKinley High School. Stella had attended Tiffin University and served with the ATSC at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. She retired from The Timken Company in 1981 after 30 years of service where she served as an Engineering Technician. She was a member of the McKinley Alumni Club, AARP, and an honorary member of the Teamsters Union local #92 retirees. She will be remembered as an artist, calligrapher, and for the love of family, friends and animals. Her favorite color was green, and her favorite flowers were Dandelions and Wild Violets. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mathias N. and Stella O. (Wise) Frenz Sr; her husband, William J. Von Almen; step-son, Frederic Von Almen; a dear nephew, Paul Beitler. She is survived by one brother, Mathias Frenz; two step-daughters, Martha (Leslie) Ritchey, Catherine (Thomas) Schoeppner; one niece, Susan (Dave) Harris; one nephew, Edward Frenz; many step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren; extended family, dear friends and loving cats. Friends may call Thursday January 3, 2008, 4-6pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be conducted in Forest Hill Cemetery.
