Shirley J. Sterling
Age 84, of Canton a loving mother and grandmother died Monday, August 14, 2017 in her home following an extended illness. Born March 24, 1933 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Jasper and Katherine (Duff) Hoopingarner. Shirley was very strong in her faith and was a member of First Assembly of God. She had previously sung along with her mother on a Christian radio station in Coshocton, Ohio. Preceded in death by her husband, John C. Sterling in 1998. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in law, John A. and Kathy, Jack and Frances, Jeff and Debie, Jim and Angela Sterling; four grandchildren, Evett, Shauna, Nicole and Zachary; several great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Tucci; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug 17, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Pastor Dan Deem officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
