Shirley L. Burrier, age 90, of East Canton, died Thursday morning in Massillon Community Hospital following an extended illness. Daughter of the late George and Polly (Adams) Hogg. She was an East Canton area resident since 1946, retiring from The Stark County District Library in 1976 with 17 years of service. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she was active in Ruth Naomi Circle, the church Choir, served as a Sunday School teacher and in various other capacities at the church. Member of The Louisville YMCA Women's Morning Swim, Eastern University Outstanding Women, East Canton Lion's Auxiliary and served as a volunteer for The American Cancer Society and American Lung Association. She also served with the W.A.C. during WWII. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Burrier in 1989; an infant son, Donald George Burrier; three brothers and four sisters. Survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Burrier of Westminster, CO, Randall and Joan Burrier of Navarre; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Dan Hanny officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 2-4pm in the funeral home.
