Shirley L. Burkett
Age 80, a longtime resident of Canton Township died Thursday, August 25, 2016 in her home following an extended illness. Born November 7, 1935 in Canton to the late Paul and Lucy (Ritter) Richeson. She was active with the Canton Players Guild, Senior Friends of Mercy Hospital, Aultman Blood Mobile and Senior Olympics. Preceded in death by her husband, James R. Burkett and one son, Kenneth Burkett. She is survived by one daughter, Debra Kieffer of East Canton; one son, James Burkett Jr of New Albany, IN; one granddaughter, Brandy Kieffer of East Canton; one grandson, Ian Burkett of Indiana; two great granddaughters, Heavyn Kieffer and Destiny Strouse. There will be no public services. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care.
