Shirley A. Been

Shirley A. Been, age 88, of Canton passed away in her home on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was born in Canton, Ohio to the late William C. and Jessie (Hudson) Weaver on July 28, 1936. She remained a life resident of the Canton area. A 1954 graduate of Canton South High School. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Been who passed on May 4, 2020, they married on December 23, 1982. Parents; a sister Carol Weaver; six brothers Donald, Paul, Howard, Karl, William, and John Weaver. 

Those left to cherish Shirley’s memories are seven nieces, five nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Three stepdaughters and one step-daughter-in-law of Newton Falls, Ohio. 

Shirley retired from EKCO Products in Canton after 32 years of service and returned to work at Omni in Massillon for a few more years. She enjoyed fishing, traveling and camping, along with being a proud Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 am., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, located at 2427 Tuscarawas St W, Canton, OH 44708, with Father Edward Beneleit as celebrant, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial donations in honor of Shirley may be made to the charity of your choice, and prayers are encouraged for the end of abortion.
