Scott T. Owens

Age 60, of Minerva passed away Sunday December 9, 2018 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 4, 1958 in Canton to Winston P. and Nancy L. (Simon) Owens. Scott was a 1977 graduate of East Canton High School and was employed by EnerVest for 35 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Community Christian Church. Scott enjoyed gardening, working on anything mechanical, hunting, golfing and riding motorcycles. Scott is preceded in death by an infant sister, Paulette Owens; grandparents, William and Pauline Palmer, Thomas Simon; mother-in-law, Rosann Schneider. He is survived by his wife, Debra J. (Sanford) to whom he was married 31 years; two daughters, Rebecca Owens (Luke) and Erinn (Zach) Higgins; two grandchildren, Draven Buehler and Avery Higgins; his parents, Winston P. “Shorty” and Nancy Owens; three sisters, Jennifer (Thomas) Barkhurst, Jolette (David) Monter and Paula (Robert) Foss; father-in-law, Wayne (Cindy) Sanford; brother-in-law, Tim Sanford (Princess); several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Marc Shapiro, Tara Plues, the Taussig Center at the Cleveland Clinic, Crossroads Hospice, Josh and Amanda for all their wonderful care and assistance. Funeral services will be Friday December 14, 2018 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Ed Dickerhoof officiating.
