Sara J. (Rodgers) Smith, age 80, of Canton, died Wednesday morning in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Daughter of the late James C. and Sara J. (Myler) Starlin. She was a Canton area resident most of her life and volunteered with the Army Veterans Auxillary in Tucson, Ar. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, William D. Rodgers in 1994 and her second husband, George Smith in 1996, one granddaughter, Lisa Arkenburgh, son-in-law, Eugene Arkenburgh. She is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law; A. Marie Arkenburgh of Canton and her fiance', Larry Hendershot, Regena Snyder of Akron, Doris Rodgers of Norfolk, VA, and Marcella and Tom Toalston of Salineville, OH., four sons and daughters-in-law; Bob and Jan Rodgers of Las Vegas, NV., Richard and Dee Rodgers of Carrollton, Ray and Joe Rodgers both of Canton, 5 step-children, 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one sister, Edra Regena Tolbert of Addison, AL., half brother, Vern Starlin of Elkton, OH. Services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Ron Howard officiating. Friends may call one hour before services on Saturday (10:00-11:00 am).
