Sandra K. Manges

Age 78, of Massillon, Ohio died Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born May 28, 1943 in Canton, Ohio to the late Richard and Zedith (Nichols) Leichtamer. Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. She was a Massillon resident for the past five years prior to which she resided Canton. Sandy retired from Canton Local Schools and had been a realtor for over 30 years. She was a member of North Industry Christian Church, Canton South Rotary, Canton South Junior Guild, numerous card clubs and had formerly served on the board at the Canton Christian Home. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Fred Gaines. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim Manges; one daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Dave Morehart; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Sarah Manges; nine grandchildren, Kaylie (John) Babb, Coby (Rebecca) Morehart, Carter Morehart, Gabe (Maddie) Manges, Lydia (Blake) Carpenter, Abbie (Andrew) Hachmeister, Gideon Manges, Elijah Manges, Malachi Manges; two great granddaughters, Chole and Avery Morehart. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center staff for all their wonderful care they gave to Sandy. The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to all their lifelong friends for the outpouring of love and thoughtfulness expressed to their families in recent days and throughout their lives. Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb 24, 2022 at 11:30 am in the North Industry Christian Church, 425 – 45th Street SW., Canton, OH 44706. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the church from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to North Industry Christian Church.
