Ruth A. (Paumier) Smith
Age 88, of East Canton, passed away Saturday April 15, 2017 in Aultman Compassionate Care. She was born January 30, 1929 in Louisville, OH to the late Frances A. and Anna (Jaeb) Paumier. Ruth was a 1947 graduate of East Canton High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s and St. Benedict Catholic Parish and AARP. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Sickles. Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert W. Smith to whom she was married 69 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Donald Taylor; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert F. and Jan Smith, Bill and Diana Smith, Dave E. and Linda Smith; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Donna Upperman, Teresa and Richard Snively; one brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Janet Paumier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday April 19, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. Benedict Catholic Church, where the procession will form, with Fr. Benson Okpara and Fr. Donald Feicht concelebrants. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday (today) 4-7pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Care Center and Aultman Compassionate Care for their wonderful care.
