Roy W. Vogt, age 97, of Canton, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at the Canton Christian Home. Mr. Vogt was born on Jan. 14, 1913 in Canton, Ohio to the late William Clarence and Martha (Ardman) Vogt. He was a life resident of Canton and a member of North Industry United Methodist Church.
Mr. Vogt was the owner and operator of Buckeye Polishing. He liked to fish and enjoyed, along with his wife, Wilma, traveling and spending winters in Florida.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma V. Vogt; one grandson, Troy Vogt; a brother-in-law, Kromer Weekly. He is survived by three children and spouses; Joan Griffiths of Canton, Shirley and Gene Wagner of Canton, and Jerry and Betty Vogt of Canton; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Dorotha Vogt; two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Dale Drukenbrod and Dolly Weekly.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Canton Christian Home for their exceptional care, and to Roy's friend Bill.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Canton Christian Home, with Chaplain Ron Iwanusa officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
