Roy L. Asher
Roy L., Asher, age 63, of Canton died Tuesday June 8, 2004 in his home following a brief illness. Son of the late Kahle and Dorothy(LeMaster) Asher. He was a Canton area resident since 1942 and a 1959 graduate of Timken High School. Roy completed his machinist apprenticeship in 1963 with the Timken Company and retired as a supervisor with the Timken Company of large industrial grinding in 1992. He was also employed by Ferry Industries in East Canton from 1993 - 2001. Roy was an active member of the 38th Street Church of Christ since his youth. He was also a past member and officer with Toastmasters. Roy loved to play golf and was President of the church golf league. He is survived by his wife, Joyce J. (Shaffer) to whom he was married 43 years, one son and daughter-in-law; Jeff and Kim Asher of Sunbury, OH. Two grandchildren; Emily and Zachary Asher both of Sunbury, OH., one sister, Mary Ann Lehman of Cape Coral, FL. Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Friday from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Aultman Hospice at 2821 Woodlawn NW, Canton, OH 44708.
