Rosemarie Ianni
Rosemarie Ianni, age 72, of Canton, died Thursday August 17, 2006 in her home following a brief illness. She was born May 1, 1934 in Canton, to the late Herman and Mary (Mesnyak) Gonzalez. She was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School. Rosemarie was a graduate of Kent State University and received her Special Education Certificate from Walsh College. She retired from Canton City Schools in 1994 after serving as a teacher at St. Mary's, Allen Elementary and Fairmont Elementary; she was also formerly employed by the Timken Company for six years. Rosemarie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton, where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was awarded Teacher of the Year at Fairmont Elementary and had also served as a Girl Scout Leader for several years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother, David Gonzalez. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Christine Ianni of Woodridge, VA, Linda and Tony Gambow of Hartville; four grandchildren, Sarah Ianni, Nick, Rachel and Joshua Gambow; two brothers and one sister; special friends, Rev. Melvin and Lois Leidig, Regina Segeti, Linda Glover, Eva Black, Dolly Sousaris, Ann Haren and Garnet Moore. A memorial mass will be Tuesday August 22, 2006 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic with Fr. Gerald Sommer, MSC as Celebrant. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. is handling arrangements.
