Rose Mary Varela
Age 96, of Canton died unexpectedly in her home on Friday, January 21, 2011. Born February 16, 1914 in Smethport, PA. to the late Dominick and Mary (Terrio) Casilio. She was a Canton resident for the past 95 years and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Canton. Preceded in death by her husband, Jose` M. Varela in 1986; one son-in-law, Paul A. Slish; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carmela and Emil Silvery, Lena and Gabriel Gasbare; two brothers and sister-in-law, Frank and Josephine Casilio, William Casilio. She is survived by one daughter, Josephine Slish of Canton; six grandchildren and spouses, Joseph and Helen Slish, Jacqueline and Charles Vickers, Paula and Mark Beadle, Marc Slish, William and Kendra Slish, Megan Slish; ten great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at 9:30 am in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Canton with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave.
