Ronald Lee Summers

Ronald “Ron” L. Summers, age 67, was called home to Heaven on March 17, 2025.

Ron was born on February 18, 1958. It comes with great sadness to the family to lose a truly great man.

He was formerly of Waynesburg, OH but spent most of his life in Maiden, NC.

Ron graduated from Sandy Valley High in 1976. He furthered his education at Lima Technical School, where he received an associate degree.

Ron worked at Conrail Railway for over 20 years until the company was dismantled which took his family and life to North Carolina to continue his career in the rail industry with Norfolk Southern for another 20 years. He was a licensed Ham radio operator.

Ron never met a stranger and was always helping others. His great smile and loving heart will always be remembered. He loved talking to people in other countries and receiving postcards from them.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Lois Summers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 43 years, Kathy Summers; sons, Brian (Katie) Summers, Adam (Amanda) Summers; three grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Summers, Garry (Lucinda) Summers and Leo (Barb) Summers; also many extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26th from 10-11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1835 Dover Zoar Rd NE, Bolivar, OH 44612. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tomas Carvajal as Celebrant. Following the Mass, Ron will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, NC or Carolina Caring Hospice.
