Ronald E. Souders

Ronald E. Souders, 89, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2024, at his residence. Born on September 5, 1934, to Earl Souders and Elsie (Schwartz) Souders, he remained a lifelong resident of the Canton area and graduated from Canton South High School in 1952.

Ronald dedicated 45 years of his life to Ohio Power Co., where he served as a fleet maintenance supervisor until his well-earned retirement after 45 years. Actively engaged in his community, he was a trustee at Otterbein United Methodist Church. 

Ronald was also a valued member of various organizations, including Ohio Power Retirees, VFW Post #5047, AMVETS #1988, William McKinley Lodge #431F&AM, Scottish Rite & York Rite Valley of Canton, and the Loyal Order of Moose #2471. He also served as the President of the Ed Palmer Memorial Golf League. Ronald was also an avid fan of NASCAR & truck and tractor pulls.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Harry Souders. Ronald is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Dennis Faust of Deland, Florida, his son Brian Souders of Canton, and his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bodo.

Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 6 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. with Rev. Carl Orphanides as officiant. An inurnment at Forest Hill Cemetery will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11 am., allowing family and friends to gather and celebrate Ronald's life.
