Ronald E. Hanze
Age 72, of Canton, passed away Thursday August 4, 2011 in Aultman Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 12, 1939 in Canton, OH to the late Edward and Lucile (Wadsworth) Hanze. Ronald was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1957 graduate of Canton South High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1957 to 1961 where he served in operation Deep Freeze and traveled to the Arctic on two occasions. He retired from Plain Local Schools in 2004 after 15 years of service and was formerly employed by Dyneer Corporation for 21 years. He had attended Perry Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vickie. Ronald is survived by his wife, Carol A. (Reynolds) to whom he was married 53 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Shelley Hanze of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathi and Dick Maggiore of N. Canton; five grandchildren, Ashley, Bryan and Kelley Hanze, Jeffrey and Nathan Maggiore; two step-grandchildren, Adam and Corey; six great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Hanze of Toronto, OH, Art and Shirley Hanze of Turtle Creek, PA, Dick and Kathy Hanze of McDonald, PA; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Terry House of Louisville. Funeral services will be Monday August 8, 2011 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 2-5pm and one hour before services on Monday (12-1pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 525 North Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406.
