Ronald E. Crooks
Age 96, of Waynesburg died Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born May 28, 1917 in Six Mile Run, PA. He was a Waynesburg resident most of his life and a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was a member of the Seabees. Ronald retired from Southeastern Equipment. He was a member of VFW Post #3747, Army/Navy Garrison #150 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #7490. Preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Crooks in 1995; one son, Ronald E. Crooks Jr; one sister, Mildred Stevenson; two brothers, Wilbert and William Spencer. He is survived by his companion, Rose Lowder of Waco; two grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Willard and Phyllis Spencer of Smithville, Robert and Pat Spencer of Waynesburg; one sister, Viola Pendelbury of Smithville; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August, 28, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
