Roger Junior Neighbor, age 83, went home to the Lord Friday June 2, 2006. He was born July 14, 1922 to Roger and Gladys (Malcuitt) Neighbor, and was a lifelong resident of the Canton area. He was extremely proud to have served his country during WWII as a Marine having served in Guam and Iwa Jima from 1942-1945. He continued to show his patriotism throughout his life. He was an industrious and hardworking man who had served 20 years as a custodian for Canton Local School District, retiring in 1984. He had also served as a bus driver for MRDD Workshop, prior to which he had been a milkman for many years with the Holguern's Dairy. He was an active member of North Industry United Methodist Church, Canton South AARP, and was a former Boy Scout Leader with Troop #200. He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Norma June Neighbor in 2000; two brothers, Delnor and Rehmus Neighbor; two sisters, Marie Baughman and Undine Herstine; two grandsons, Ryan and Seth Neighbor; dear friends, Lawrence and Peggy Bell. Survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kathleen Neighbor of Tucson, AZ, Wayne and Barb Neighbor of Canton, Bruce and Vicki Neighbor of Bolivar, Kevin and Lisa Neighbor of Navarre; he will be missed by grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Neighbor of Tucson, AZ, Jennifer Neighbor of Savannah, GA, Krista Neighbor of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie and Jason Tucker of Columbus; great grandchildren, Lauren and Luke Tucker; his dear friends, Annie and Bob Fox, Don and Marilyn Lerch. A celebration of life will be Thursday June 8, 2006 at 11:00am in North Industry United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ross officiating. Internment in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-8 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave., and one hour before services at the church on Thursday (10-11am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to North Industry U.M.C. or the Boy Scouts of America.
